Los Angeles is my backyard

This city has no slogan, you can mess with it and it falls asleep every night, and sometimes during the afternoons too. At various times. It has no signature mass transit. But it is in the sunshine state, it’s a jealous 70 degrees year round. Los Angeles is also the capital outside of the capital. Meaning we have the most Koreans outside of Korea(?maybe second to Brazil). The Guatemalans outside of Guatemala, The most Ethiopians outside of Ethiopia. and more! There are over 70 languages spoken here. I've heard it said that All that cultural rubbing up against each other causes the intersection of Vermont and _ the most accident prone intersection

However in the social sciences it has a slogan. “The city that is 10 years ahead of other cities”. Being 10 years ahead of every other city is not like you’re son skipping grades because he’s so dang smart. Its more like a science experiment that got out of control. From a calculated distance the experts take notes and send Morris code to the other major cities around the country. Watch out for this. Be careful when you see signs of this. It happened in LA, it could happen to you. In 1992 there was a race riot, bread riot, burning down the streets. So Chicago, Baltimore, Philly, and San Fran watch out about the race tensions,and let the poor people think you are doing something to help them so they don’t get so unsatisfied they start stealing bread and widescreen TVs.


And it is my home now, in a new way. I live, pay rent and taxes here. I care about the bigger picture. From 6 mos to 3 years and 5 to 18 years I lived in some part of LA but couldn’t see beyond my backyard, when I had a backyard or past the freeway, when the freeway was my backyard. Now it feels like all of Los Angeles is my back yard.
