Haikus for Paris

1. Daily Bread

If I were a mouse

I’d live happy in Paris

Baguette Crumbs rain down

2. Café Au Lait

Everyone speaks French in

France. Where do all the letters

Go unpronounced? Cesse.

3. “What you come to Paris to do? Sleep?”

“Je Appelle Au voit?”

“Have Family in Paris?”

“Let’s go out, us two.“

4. Natives

Europeans are

White people living on land

Robbed from their own dads

5. Tourism

A top tour Eiffel

Rain drops and ancient roof tops

My breath is a wing

[Under the weight of 5 haikus and 721 pounds of Jetlag, the poet sleeps]
