-

When she is discontent with life, she takes it out on her clothes. She stood in the closet frustrated at seeing the same clothes, being the same body, doing the same routine. She pulled a dress that she had not worn since last summer off the hanger and threw it next to her bed. She would wear it tomorrow, in attempts to liven things ups.

“What does one do in order to be content?” she asked the air, herself, the closet. Her roommate, who sat reading in bed, answered, “Good question, I think it starts with being grateful.”

She knew this was probably true. She knew that she had a lot to be grateful for and she felt like she normally was, but today she didn’t want to be grateful. She sunk down into her bed and closed her eyes and went to sleep.

Luckily, she woke up the next day.
